What an amazing morning! We had two rows of Principals Paws-ative 100 winners today! These students receive recognition cards for hard work, citizenship, and work ethic. They are then given a number in the office that they place on the PP100 Board in the cafeteria. When a row, or in this case rows, are filled up, the winners are called down to receive a sticker, pencil & $5 Cub Quick Stop card. Way to be excellent, Cubs!

We have our first Principals Paws-ative 100 Board winners this week! PP 100 Board is a bingo type board where students receiving Paws-ative 100 cards from their teachers for working hard, great progress, citizenship, & excellence will then go to our office to randomly draw a bingo number and put their bingo piece on our PP 100 Board. When a row is filled horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, we then have WINNING board. Each of those students receives a sticker, pencil, and $5 Cub Quick Stop card. Our counseling staff at Powell Middle School gathers helpful tips & information concerning Digital Wellness. Here is September's article of focus:
Technology is a powerful tool for learning, connection and creativity, but without boundaries, it can quietly take over daily life. Research shows that students who have clear, consistent tech guidelines at school and at home often have better focus in class, stronger relationships and healthier sleep patterns.
Powell Middle School Digital Device Policy: Students may not use personal cell phones or other communication devices on campus from 7:30 a.m.–3:25 p.m. (or 7:30 a.m.–12:45 p.m. on Fridays) unless given express staff permission or during an emergency. This includes texting.
Why it matters: Even quick phone checks can disrupt focus, reduce memory, and make it harder to re-engage in learning. Limiting phone use helps protect attention and build healthy habits.
At home, you may try:
Creating screen-free zones (bedrooms, dinner table)
Setting a digital curfew before bed
Modelling balanced tech use
